"We Are Autism" 2007 Wall Calendar:
A 12-month journey with children who have autism through the eyes of their parents

Northwest Suburban Chapter 114 of the Autism Society of America and the Parent Support Group of Illinois School District 54 collaborated in the creation of this unique project, produced entirely by parents. Each month features a photo of a child with autism, along with a piece written by one of the child's parents about what it is like to live with autism. The result is a collage of touching and provocative personal perspectives. From January to December a variety of topics is explored, including getting the diagnosis, the exhausting search for the "right" treatment, being the single mother of a child with autism, the challenge of sleep, nutritional interventions, having multiple diagnoses of autism in the family, the vaccine issue and dealing with the general public's misperceptions about autism. The stories on the pages of this calendar will resonate with people who have loved ones with autism; they will inform people who wish to learn about autism; they will give insight to people who are already fighting on the frontlines of the battle against autism.
